چکیده

In the pursuit of increasing treatment efficiency and decreasing treatment duration, vibratory stimulation has been advocated as a possible adjunct to orthodontic appliances to increase the rate of tooth movement. Following this, a new device called the Acceledent has become commercially available, and is aimed at decreasing treatment duration by accelerating periodontal and bony tissue remodelling with low magnitude high frequency vibration. Surgical methods, regardless of technique, are still invasive to some degree, and hence have their associated complications. Hence, non-invasive methods have come to the force. Vibration was mostly investigated and gave the most promising results. The concept of using physical approaches came from the idea that applying orthodontic forces causes bone bending (bone bending theory) and bioelectrical potential develops. The level of evidence of published articles on orthodontics in PubMed journals from Iran during 2000-2015

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Evidence-based dentistry (EBD), including orthodontics, needs the availability and use of the high-quality studies. The aim of this study was to identify the level of evidence (LOE) of Iranian articles on orthodontics published in PubMed.METHODS: All the articles on orthodontics published from 2000 to 2015 in PubMed with Iran affiliations were extracted by typing orthodontic...

Do customized orthodontic appliances and vibration devices provide more efficient treatment than conventional methods?

The incorporation of technological advances in the field of clinical orthodontics to increase treatment efficiency has led to the development of customized appliances (Insignia®), archwires (Suresmile®), and the production of devices to enhance tooth movement (Acceledent®). This review presents a comprehensive study of the literature concerning these products, and analyzes the available evidenc...

Effect of self-ligating bracket type and vibration on frictional force and stick-slip phenomenon in diverse tooth displacement conditions: an in vitro mechanical analysis.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effects of self-ligating bracket (SLB) type and vibration on frictional force and stick-slip phenomenon (SSP) in diverse tooth displacement conditions when a levelling/alignment wire was drawn. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 16 groups were tested (n = 10/group): Two types of SLBs [active SLB (ASLB, In-Ovation R) and passive SLB (PSLB, Damon Q)]; vibration (30 Hz an...

Analysis of the dynamic behavior of the car user in the irregular terrain

Many people experience vibration effects on whole-body throughout their lives frequently. Vibrating energy absorbed is exposed all-body caused with vibration hazard in the vertically on body and biodynamic responses from body in speed 2.37 to 5.14 m/s could captivate with car seat on user body, so the vibration energy transferred to a seated people body. In this paper, the human body is modeled...

Investigation of the Effect of Pre-Stressed on Vibration Frequency of Rectangular Nanoplate Based on a Visco-Pasternak Foundation

In the present work, the free vibration behavior of rectangular graphene sheet under shear in-plane load is studied. Nonlocal elasticity theory has been implemented to study the vibration analysis of orthotropic single-layered graphene sheets (SLGSs) subjected to shear in-plane load. The SLGSs is embedded on a viscoelastic medium which is simulated as a Visco-Pasternak foundation. Using the pri...
